Hosta Zucchini Fries will form a small clump of 8"-12" in height, with a spread of up to 22" at maturity. It has really nice, very long narrow blue-green leaves with heavily rippled margins, and there are not many Hostas with this type of leaves on the market. The leaf backs are blushed with purple in spring as it emerges. Leaf petioles and flower scapes are dark red.
Purple flowers that appear on scapes of up to 20", in mid-summer, are fertile and produce red pods. The name Hosta Zucchini Fries is really suitable, as the leaves are as long as french fries and green as Zucchini. What's not to like?
