Hosta Zitonenfalter forms a medium clump of 36cm-40cm in height, with a spread of up to 80cm at maturity. This variety was introduced by Heinz Klose of Germany. The leaves are greenish in spring and transition to bright gold in summer, retaining this colour for the rest of the season. The leaves are slightly wavy and corrugated. The name translates to Lemon Butterfly from German. It produces large lavender flowers with purple stripes on stiff scapes that can reach up to 75cm in height, blooming from July through August.
