Hosta Zebra Stripes forms a medium-sized mound, reaching approximately 30cm-36cm in height with a spread of up to 75cm at maturity. This unique Hosta exhibits leaves that start as pure white in spring and gradually develop green striped veins and green speckling as they unfurl. The foliage continues to turn greener throughout the season. Optimal results are achieved with about an hour of morning sun, as this helps maintain the white foliage colour more effectively than deeper shade, which causes the plants to turn green sooner in the summer. For best growth, Hosta Zebra Stripes requires partial morning sunlight and dappled shade for the remainder of the day. Due to its white foliage, which produces minimal chlorophyll, it does not perform well in dense shade. Although it presents some cultivation challenges, the effort is highly rewarding. Pale lavender flowers appear in July on 55cm scapes. This variety is part of our Special Collection.
