Hosta Zebra Stripes will form a medium sized mound of about 12"-14" in height, with a spread of up to 30" at maturity. This very unique Hosta features leaves that emerge pure white in spring and as they unfurl, develop green striped veins and green speckling. Continues to get greener as the season progresses. Hostas from this breeding line tend not to fare as well in climates that have very cool spring temperatures. With good morning sun, the white foliage colour holds better, where plants in deeper shade turn green much sooner in summer. For best results, Hosta Zebra Stripes needs about an hour of morning sun, and dappled shade for the rest of the day. Because of the white foliage, it produces very little chlorophyll, and does not do well in dense shade. This one is a challenge, but well worth it. Pale lavender flowers appear during July, on 22" scapes. This is part of our Special Collection.
