Hosta Ventricosa Aureomarginata will form a medium to large clump of 22"-24" in height, with a spread of up to 52". The gold centred foliage in the spring, sometimes has streaking too. Leaves have a heart-shaped base and are long and twisted at the tip. Highly glossy deep green centres shading out to a brilliant and bold cream edge. Lovely shape and neatness of habit makes it ideal for the smaller garden. A very popular variety among collectors. 
This qualifies as the BEST of the oldies-but-goodies. This easy-to-grow hosta makes a wonderful specimen. In late summer,it is topped with 40" scapes of  dark lavender and white striped, bell-like flowers! American Hosta Society President's Exhibitor Trophy.
