Hosta Tortilla Chip develops into a substantial mound reaching a height of approximately 60cm-75cm, with a spread of up to 60cm at maturity. It features bright golden-yellow leaves with a smooth texture and prominent veins, adding a striking splash of gold to shaded gardens. While similar to, though smaller than, Hosta Fried Bananas – the gold-leaved variant of Hosta Guacamole – it requires protection from intense afternoon sun as it is not sun-tolerant. Additionally, it is not resistant to slugs but does exhibit drought tolerance. Hosta Tortilla Chip is an easy-to-grow plant, making an excellent specimen in a single container. The plant produces very fragrant, lily-like, almost white flowers on 90cm scapes that bloom from July into August.
