Hosta Strawberry Surprise forms a medium sized mound of about 15"-20" in height,and a spread of up to 32", at maturity. A good fast growing variety with heart-shaped, slightly cupped & corrugated, green leaves and a yellow margin. Large blue-green leaves with a wide irregular yellow border present a dramatic display upon an impressive medium-sized mound. The border changes to cream as the season progresses and are complimented with a surprise of glaucous red-burgundy, 32" tall flower scapes, holding the plant's lavender flowers, well above the foliage. Slug resistant but not particularly sun tolerant.  Best in dappled shade.
