Hosta Stained Glass will grow to a height of 50cm-60cm and spread up to 90cm at maturity. It is a variant of Hosta Guacamole, distinguished by its brighter gold centre. The yellow leaves with dark green margins create a colour contrast. The prominent veins throughout the leaf give this Hosta Stained Glass window effect from early in the season. Hosta Stained Glass tolerates sun well but requires good fertile soil and adequate moisture when grown in full sun. This Hosta has almost white flowers on 75cm scapes that bloom in July and August. It shows greater sun tolerance and has moderate slug resistance, although it may suffer in hot and dry conditions. It was recognized as the American Hosta Growers Association Hosta of The Year in 2006 and received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
