Hosta Spiny Mouse will form a miniature clump of just 6"-8" in height, with a spread of up to 12" at maturity. It has very thick misty blue leaves in spring that will change to a all blue-green colour later. Remains smaller than Hosta Blue Mouse Ears. It is a Hosta with broadly ovate to nearly round, green foliage. The leaves emerge from a central axis to unfold into an upright plant. It has grey-green leaves that are incredibly thick. The unusual part is the rough, textured leaf surface. This is slug resistant. Hosta 'Spiny Mouse' is an oddball, perfect for you mouse Hosta geeks! In July, it bears clusters of pale purple flowers held just above the foliage on blue scapes but does not produce seeds. This is part of our Special Collection.
