Hosta Red Stepper forms a small to medium-sized mound, reaching about 36cm-38cm in height and up to 55cm in width at maturity. This Hosta variety is notable for its unusual green leaves, which are shiny, moderately wavy, and twisted, with distinct red stems. The red on the petioles is concentrated at the base and becomes less visible once the leaves are fully unfurled. The glossy green foliage stands out prominently in any Hosta garden. At maturity, the leaves acquire a crinkled appearance. Hosta Red Stepper is tolerant of significant sun exposure; its bright, reflective blades glisten when struck by light. It produces pale lavender flowers on 75cm scapes in late summer and thrives well in both sun and shade environments.
