Hosta Rainbow's End forms a compact mound approximately 25cm-30cm in height with a spread of up to 55cm at maturity. This distinctive Hosta features glossy, ovate leaves with dark green streaks, interspersed with light green and pale-yellow variegation. During the summer, the leaf centres lighten to a creamy-white hue, making it a visually striking plant. The stems and flower spikes exhibit a dark green colour. Although this Hosta grows at a slow to moderate rate, the wait is worthwhile due to its exceptional appearance and unique variegation. Notably, Hosta 'Rainbow's End' is resistant to slug damage but does not perform well under direct sunlight. It produces tall, upright scapes of approximately 45cm, which bear racemes of fragrant, funnel-shaped lavender flowers during the summer. This Hosta was recognized as the American Hosta Growers Association’s Hosta of the Year in 2021, and has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2021.
