Hosta Prima Donna will develop into a substantial mound, reaching approximately 55cm-60cm in height and spreading up to 130cm at maturity. It features a striking mound of extra-large, dark green, glossy foliage with rippled cream margins. Initially, the margins appear yellow gold but gradually transition to creamy white as the season advances. This plant forms a perfectly arching mound, which is aesthetically pleasing. The prominent veins and rippled margins contribute to its distinctive appearance. During summer, lavender flowers bloom well above the foliage on scapes that can reach up to 120cm. Hosta Prima Donna thrives in partial sunlight and predominantly dappled shade, although it should be protected from midday sun. Additionally, the ribbed leaves enhance its resistance to slugs.
