Hosta Paradise Puppet forms a compact mound reaching 25 cm in height and spreading up to 20 cm at maturity. Hosta venusta Paradise Puppet is a notable, compact variety featuring small, tapering green leaves with a wavy and somewhat twisted appearance. This variety is easy to grow and serves as an excellent ground cover. It expands rapidly when left undisturbed, creating a small, spreading clump. By July, the plant produces numerous lavender flowers on very short scapes measuring approximately 15 cm, positioned above the foliage. This plant is considered to have some resistance to slugs and can thrive in both sun and shade. The Royal Horticultural Society has awarded it the Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
