Hosta Love Story forms a medium mound reaching 30cm-40cm in height, with a spread of up to 100cm at maturity. The leaves are long, heart-shaped, and slightly rippled, terminating in a distinct point. They exhibit yellow and light green streaks between the centre and margin colours, presenting an ovate shape that is relatively flat and has a dull finish on the upper surface. This tricolour leaf bears resemblance to the War Paint variety. In early summer, tall scapes of approximately 75cm produce near-white flowers. The leaf's coloration is particularly noteworthy.
