One of the largest varieties, Hosta Komodo Dragon, will develop into a substantial mound measuring 70cm-90cm in height and up to 225cm in width when mature. This exceptional giant forms an impressive vase-shaped, cascading mound composed of thick, broadly oval, deeply veined, and loosely rippled dark blue-green leaves, each approximately 38cm in length. A notable feature is the regular, shallow piecrust edging on the leaf margins. In midsummer, dense racemes of long-lasting, funnel-shaped, pale lavender blooms emerge, borne on scapes reaching up to 140cm in length. This variety appears to be resistant to slugs. It thrives best in dappled to full shade and does not perform well in direct sunlight. Hosta Komodo Dragon is a popular choice among gardeners and serves as an outstanding focal point in any garden. Give this one plenty of room.
