Hosta Janet will form a medium sized mound of about 16"-18" in height, with a spread of up to 36", at maturity. It is said to be similar to Hosta Gold Standard, but much smaller, & has more of a tendency to turn nearly white in the summer in medium to high light. It features cordate, wide oval, golden yellow leaves with green edges where the middle part of the leaves are green to creamy yellow. Leaf centres gradually fade from yellow to white as the growing season progresses. The ratio of green to yellow on every leaf is different, making this a very attractive plant. Funnel-shaped, pale lavender flowers bloom in late summer on scapes rising to 32" tall. Janet reportedly has better tolerance for dryish soils than many of the Hostas commonly grown in gardens today. Sun tolerant but not slug resistant.
