Hosta Gold Standard will form a medium to large mound of 20"-22" in height, with a spread of up to 50", at maturity. It will form a dense, overlapping mound of wide, oval, seer-suckered, slightly cupped, chartreuse leaves. Irregularly margined dark green, the leaf changes to golden yellow as the season progresses, before fading to white towards the end of summer. Funnel-shaped pinkish-purple blooms appear, in in June lasting into August, and rising on long scapes up to 42". The primary purpose of growing this variety is the foliage. A colourful specimen for containers or border, and is the parent of many distinguished Hostas. This is a vigorous & very easy to grow Hosta. It will tolerate early morning sun and even needs it for the leaf colour, but not really slug resistant.
