Hosta German Yellow Dragon  will form a medium mound of 15" - 18" in height, with a spread of up to 24" at maturity. Beautiful yellow leaves and red stems. This variety looks great when it flowers with it's purple flowers on yellow foliage. Firm, wavy golden leaves held on dark-red petioles. Pointed, lightly rippled leaves are smooth, glossy, and emerge in the spring lemon yellow. By the time Hosta 'German Yellow Dragon' blooms in late summer, the yellow colour has toned down a bitbut the thick, rubbery foliage still looks good. The strong, 30" long, red scapes hold the lavender flowers during August. Like a dragon raring up to take flight, the red petioles hold the leaves in a semi upright mound. Slug resistant and sun tolerant. What a dramatic looking Hosta.
