Hosta George Smith forms a medium to large mound, reaching heights of 38cm-45cm and spreading up to 90cm at maturity. It is a sport of Hosta sieboldiana Elegans. The leaves feature a bright green-gold centre, forming an elegant clump. This plant demonstrates superior qualities compared to other sieboldiana sports, showing greater vigour, good multiplication, and tolerance for some sun with adequate moisture. It blooms with near white flowers on 70cm scapes in June and July. Additionally, it is resistant to slugs and tolerant of sunlight. A notable addition to any Hosta collection, George Smith originates from Heslington, York.
