Hosta Fire Island will form a small mound of 10"-14"in height with a spread of up to 30" at maturity. It is prized for its briliant foliage and dramatic stems. A fabulous addition to any shady spot in the garden, where it forms an attractive, dense mound of widely oval, heart-shaped, glowing, pale yellow leaves, when they first emerge, then turning to chartruese. Leaves are shiny above & matt below, the luminous foliage contrasts beautifully with the bright red stems, which keep their bold colour throughout the season. Funnel-shaped lavender flowers appear on tall 20" scapes by June & July.  Plant in a pot or sheltered bed with dappled sunlight. Ensure good drainage when younger. A knockout variety that is excellent for a container or mass planting.  RHS Award Of Garden Merit.
