Hosta Emerald Tiara will form a small to medium mound of 12"-14" in height with a spread of up to 24" at maturity. It is a striking specimen plant. Features a dense mound of flat, heart-shaped leaves with gold centres and bright green leaf margins and with racemes of bell-shaped, purple flowers on 28" scapes in June & July. A dependable and versatile Hosta requiring little care. Grown primarily for its beautiful foliage which provides colour, contrast and texture to the landscape. However the strong purple flowers look fabulous in mass planting. Dense foliage crowds out most garden weeds. Does best in a rich, moist soil in light, dappled shade. This performs well as a ground cover plant. One of the best of the small/medium Hostas. Not slug resistant and only lightly tolerant of the sun.
