Hosta Curly Fries is a distinguished miniature Hosta that reaches a height of 10cm-15cm, with a spread of up to 40cm at full maturity. Its fine-textured, arching mound comprises highly rippled, lance-shaped leaves in a pale chartreuse hue. For optimal foliage colour, position this Hosta where it receives some morning sunlight. As the plant matures, it will develop red-speckled petioles, which are absent in younger specimens. Note that mature plants may lose some of their rippling effect; therefore, regular division is recommended to maintain this characteristic. During July and August, the plant produces star-shaped lavender flowers that rise just above the foliage on scapes measuring 45cm. This variety is tolerant of sun exposure. Hosta Curly Fries was was honoured as the American Hosta Growers Association Hosta of the Year in 2016 and has received recognition from the American Hosta Society with the Distinguished Merit Hosta award 2018.
