Hosta Cherry Red will form a small eyecatching mound of 15"-20" in height, with a spread of up to 36" at maturity. It has eye-catching lance-shaped, white leaves with dark green margins that streak towards the centre. A ravishing tri-colour effect can often be seen in early to mid-summer. Racemes of violet, flared flowers appear above the foliage an burgundy red scapes of 28" in midsummer, an eye-catching, colorful combination. Named for its seed pods which turn bright red and last through the autumn. Needs some direct sunlight to bring out the reddish pigment but not slug resistant.
