Hosta Blue Mammoth forms a substantial clump reaching 30" to 36" in height with a spread of up to 48" at maturity. It features thick, puckered, broadly ovate, wavy, and heavily corrugated grey-blue leaves of excellent substance. During the summer, it bears racemes of funnel-shaped white flowers on 48" scapes. This prominent specimen boasts very large, chalky-blue, heavily quilted leaves. Hosta Blue Mammoth is a striking giant that can serve as an excellent centrepiece for a bed or border. The substantial leaves make this variety relatively resistant to slugs, though they may experience some scorch in direct sunlight. Dappled shade is recommended if possible. It has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
