Hosta Blue Hawaii forms a mound 26"-32" in height with a spread of up to 44" at maturity. It is a corrugated steel blue variety that maintains its colour well when grown in the shade. This vase-shaped Hosta has upright, slightly cupped, and corrugated powder-blue leaves. The breeder describes it as having a rich powdery blue colour like the tropical waters of Hawaii. The heavy glaucous coating on both sides of the thick leaves provides good slug resistance. It is a slow grower and may not reach the listed size in poor soil conditions. Almost white flowers appear in July-August on scapes of up to 42". Plant this Hosta out of direct sunlight for optimal growth.
