Hosta Ben Vernooij will form a medium sized mound of 16" -18" in height with a spread of up to 24" when mature. This a superb tetraploid sport of Hosta First Frost, has incredibly thick leaves, which are an intense blue with a very wide creamy-white margin, and holds its colour and form until the first frost. It is a truly stunning hosta. Later in the season it has thick blue leaves and a striking yellow orange margin. Lavender flowers appear on 28" scapes in June until mid July. This variety is both slug resistant and sun tolerant. A fantastic garden worthy plant. This is a Hosta that is purchased for it's leaf colour and substance only. Flowers are secondary.
