Hosta Abiqua Drinking Gourd forms a medium mound of 18"-24" in height, with a spread of up to 48" at maturity. The plant features deeply cupped and twisted leaves that are nearly round, measuring 11" by 11". These leaves have a waxy bloom, are blue-green, and heavily corrugated. The near-white flowers appear on 30" scapes, just above the foliage, during late June and early July. Hosta Abiqua Drinking Gourd is noted for its resistance to slugs and its ability to tolerate sunlight. It was named American Hosta Growers Association Hosta of the Year in 2014 and received the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
