Garlic Spray Recipe

We keep being asked for our Garlic Spray recipe, which we have found very effective as a snail and slug deterrent. Like all good recipes you can alter the quantities to suit...... they are only a guide.

Recipe

Take 2 full bulbs of garlic cut in half and add to 2 litres of water in a saucepan.
Boil until soft and squishy and use a potato masher to extract as much of the garlic as possible. (Your kitchen will be a bit smelly, if you like garlic fine, if not suggest you open all your windows!!)
Sieve out all the skins leaving a cloudy liquid, which will become your concentrate. Keep in an empty screw top bottle.
Dilute approx I part concentrate to 10 parts water, best in a garden sprayer.
Spray your Hostas once a week.
Remember you may need to apply more regularly during wet weather.
